In the somewhat confusing world of Anton Bruckner (1824 - 1896) and the numbering of his symphonies, the Symphony # 0 is actually the third symphony he wrote. The first symphony he wrote was as an assignment for his composition teacher in 1863. Bruckner rejected this work by calling it 'school work', but he did not destroy it.
